The two pavilions of Osborne House are cut into the gentle slope characterising this coastal site. The brick- and glass-walled pavilions cradle a pebbled courtyard, its microclimate enabling the simply landscaped space to become a tranquil external room. In an elevated planter, a single Melaleuca tree rises above the courtyard’s walls, hinting at the intimate relationship the house advances between interior and exterior.
