reed house (heide II)
heide museum of modern art bulleen

An art object itself, this remarkable and ageless building was influenced by international style and designed to later become a gallery. Interlocking linear forms step down a sloping site, and the building’s minimalism is further expressed through pared-back materials: white terrazzo floors, Mt Gambier white limestone walls and light pine ceilings. Large windows create complicity between inside and out, providing tranquil views into intimate maze-like courtyards.
