in assn with Prof. Daryl Le Grew

The showroom site is a place of a significant cultural heritage, and required an enlightened and respectful approach to negotiating with the Wathaurong Aboriginal community. The design incorporated as much of an existing building’s fabric and infrastructure as possible, while deftly supplanting its previous identity as a restaurant. A limited palette of materials and colours creates a neutral space, allowing the client’s beautifully designed vehicles to dominate.
