heide II
heide museum of modern art bulleen

In 1963, McGlashan and Everist was commissioned to design Heide II for John and Sunday Reed. The Reeds lived there until 1980, when they donated Heide II to the state for the purpose of a public gallery. McGlashan Everist was re-engaged to transform the space for this new use. We maintained the building’s integrity and the spirit the Reeds brought to it, while carefully addressing the issues of gallery-standard environmental conditions and public safety.
